Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium

We went there yesterday.

I think in the past 3 days I have gone through a little more than a half a tank of gas. It's been quite a busy week.

Little A's Kindergarten class took a field trip to the west side of town. It was a long drive. A looong one.

One of the mother's from his class along with her daughter, road with us, so thankfully I had someone to talk to on the way over. It took us nearly an hour to get over there.

The last time I was there was when the Zoo was over in my area of town. Big A took me there when we were dating. So it's been quite some time.

The kids were so excited to be there. What kid wouldn't be? I mean, they get a day off from school to go on a field trip. How much better could it be? Sometimes, I wish my work would do field trips. I think everyone needs a day to kick back with their co-workers and have some fun.

We got there early in the morning. It was suppose to rain yesterday. If it did, the trip was going to be cancelled. I think in a way, most of us were secretly hoping it would be cancelled because we weren't looking forward to the drive out there. It rained, a little, but we still went.

Enjoy the pics from the trip.

The entrance to the zoo.

Little A with a couple of his friends from school.

Standing in front of the flamingo exhibit.

Entering the aquarium we saw this.
And this.
Little A staring at the various sharks and fish.
The white albino alligator. Little A thought he was dead.
Touching a starfish.
More fish.
The pretty fish.
The kids looking at the penguins.
More of Little A's friends. The D man was not liking the smell in there.
There was a log ride right behind them that they were enjoying.
Little A refused to smile for this picture.
In front of the warthogs.
The kids looking at the camel.
Stopping to pose with my boy.
These girls were trying to be "rhinos" by placing these tiny cones on their noses.
Um...yeah...this is what the kids saw as they entered the petting zoo.
He was having a great time in the petting zoo.
Um...yeah...more freaky stuff going on there.
No one was feeding her so she helped herself.

E and D

On Tuesday I went to my friend Kristy's house for a playdate with our boys. They are about 4 months apart from each other and they play really well together. She lives way far out on the west side, but the trip was worth it.
The last time they saw each other, E had just turned 1 and D was 8 months old.
Here they are sitting down again for the first time in a while.

And then eating lunch together.
D was eyeing E's food.
Chasing each other in the backyard.
The future golfers. Both of their daddies enjoy playing golf.
Thanks Kristy for the wonderful playdate. Til next time.

My friend Leanne had been raving about this place when I last saw her. It wasn't until I heard another friend talk about this place, that I was finally prompted to go check it out.

All I can say is that this little boutique nestled in the area of 7th street and Glendale Ave is AWESOME!

They have clothing there that ranges from newborn all the way up to about a size 12 or so. Luckily, I can still get Little A squeezed into some of their clothing. They have a rockin' display of funky and trendy name brand clothes along with cool hip toys, bedroom and nursery furniture in excellent condition.

I picked up a sweater and a Ralph Lauren button up shirt for D for under $8. Plus I scored a wooden train table, wooden tracks and wooden trains for $55!! It was in amazing condition and most of the parts and pieces were still in bags. I was so excited to visit this place. I CANNOT wait to go there again.

Meet, The Alligators!

Little A's old buddy from soccer gave us a call and told us that his basketball team needed a few more players to complete the team. Enter, Little A. We signed him up immediately and right away he fell in love with the sport. Their team name? The Alligators.

Here they are just before their 1st game.

Little A is # 28.

Dribbling before his pass.

His buddy Manuel from soccer. Friends since they were 3.

They had their first game this past Saturday and now they are gearing up for their second. This team consists of K-1st grade students, and it is just a riot watching them dribble, pass, and shoot on the court. Most are chasing the ball, cheering for the wrong team, staring off into space, or playing defensively when they are offense. It is so funny to watch.

It's ONLY a haircut!

This is a picture of the happy young lad just moments before we set foot into the hair cutting place. He was in for a real treat today. Because although this would be his 3rd haircut since he was born, it was going to be his first REAL haircut.

A view from the back.

A view from the side.

A view from the front.

He barely sat down when he started to cry.
Tears all over the place.
And more tears (probably because of the comb-over).

Just a few more snips and we are done.

ALL better.

My handsome D.
